Ancient Kiev tour

Kiev is an ancient city. This is the first capital of the Orthodox world. For several centuries, it was the main city in the culture of Orthodox Slavs. The city has unique objects. Two of them are identified by UNESCO as world heritage sites. These are St. Sophia Cathedral and Kiev Pechersk Lavra. In this tour we start from the St. Sophia Cathedral. After that, visit one of the most beautiful Orthodox churches. This is the Mikhailovsky Cathedral. You will enjoy an amazing view from the steep banks of the Dnieper. We attend St. Andrew’s Church. This is the masterpiece of the architect Bartolomeo Francesco Rastrelli. The object is listed by UNESCO in the reserve list of world heritage monuments.  After this, the most interesting and really unique Andreevsky descent. A small walking tour. These two hours will remain in your memory for many years. There is no doubt about it. It is just shine! Real unique Kiev. Be sure to visit this tour. Do not miss the opportunity!

Very exciting excursion. Approximately 2 hours. During this time, you will see so much that you will not forget it for many years! Very short distances, but memories for many years.

Hagia Sophia (St. Sophia Cathedral) is a temple built in the first half of the 11th century in the centre of Kiev. At the turn of the XVII — XVIII centuries, it was externally rebuilt in the style of Ukrainian Baroque. Inside the cathedral, the world's most complete ensemble of authentic mosaics (260 square meters) has been preserved. Original frescoes (3000 square meters) of the first half of the XI century. Significant fragments of the murals of the XVII-XVIII centuries. In 1990, St. Sophia Cathedral, as well as the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, became the first listed architectural monument in the territory of Ukraine as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Real masterpiece.

St. Sophia Square is another remarkable sight of Kiev. It is considered significant because of its history and many legends and traditions. This is one of the oldest areas of the main city of the country. This is not just an empty space. This place is filled with an incredible amount of events.

St. Michael's Golden-domed Monastery

One of the most beautiful temples that have ever seen. Many tragic and surprising things are connected with it. It just needs to be seen. Church services are almost always held in the temple. Very unusual music and singing. This is a very special atmosphere. All real. Nothing for tourists. People communicate with their God. Just stand and listen. This is a functioning monastery.

Vladimir Hill (Владимирская горка). Another and very unusual place. The amazing view of the left bank of the Dnieper. Maybe one of the best places in the world to take your selfies. Only Niagara Falls and similar nature monuments can compete with it.

St. Andrew's Church! St. Andrew’s Church in Kiev is an Orthodox church in honour of the Apostle Andrew. Built in the Baroque style by architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli in 1754 on St. Andrew's Hill. Located on the steep right bank of the Dnieper, above the historic part of the city - Podil.  This is one of the architectural wonders of Rastrelli. Perhaps the only Orthodox church on which there is no bell. The reason is that the church was built landslide clones of the Dnieper. The beats of the bell give additional vibrations. The church is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site candidate list. This is what you really need to see.

Andrew's Descent. Very much is connected with it in the history of Kiev. An interesting and very colourful place. Life is in full swing. You will immediately understand that Kiev is the southern city. Famous people lived here. For example, the writer Mikhail Bulgakov. A lot of artists. You should not even describe what you see. It is necessary to watch.

Food on Andriyivsky Descent. There are many interesting places in terms of food. Hope your stomach is all right. A lot of national cuisine. Prices for foreigners are more than moderate. Even the food can be interesting!

The tour ends at the bottom of the Andreevsky descent.

These two hours (spent in a relatively small part of Kiev) become part of your life. There is no doubt about it. This is not just a tour. This is something special. You yourself will see that Ukraine is a beautiful country in which very friendly people live.
